Solid Lifter Adjustment

Valve lash specifications for all hi-performance Mustangs with solid lifter cam.

When adjusting solid lifters with the engine off, there are three crankshaft positions for adjusting sets of valves. Six valves are adjusted at Position A, four at Position B and six at Position C.

Note: "H" for valve lash stands for hot and "C" stands for cold. For setting the engine hot, the engine should be run until it reaches normal operating temperature. For cold settings, park the car overnight.

	No. 7 intake	No. 5 exhaust

Position B:	No. 5 intake	No. 2 exhaust
	No. 4 intake	No. 6 exhaust
Position C:	No. 2 intake	No. 7 exhaust
	No. 3 intake	No. 3 exhaust
	No. 6 intake	No. 8 exhaust

Because of their unique firing order, the valve sequence on the 351 engines differs from the other Ford solid lifter engines.
